Our Last Bill
1973-1992 16.3 Hand Thoroughbred Stallion Billings-Supreme Golden by Pancho Supreme Our Last Bill is the foundation of our breeding program. He was sired by the great horse, Billings, one of the last sons of *Mahmoud the French grey stallion so well known in racing and jumping pedigrees. Billings himself was a great race horse, running fourth in the Kentucky Derby in 1948, the year Citation won the Triple Crown. He went on to sire many good race horses and several Steeplechase Champions. Billings was almost 30 years old when we bred our Thoroughbred mare, Supreme Golden, to him. Goldie had already produced several successful runners and sport horses and had the size, conformation, athleticism and wonderful disposition so sought after in a good breeding program. She foaled a beautiful colt marked just like his sire, Billings, in 1973 and old Billings died later that year, thus Our Last Bill was the last son of Billings. Bill stood to a limited number of mares but always sired horses that were excellent jumpers, sensible and had his wonderful, quiet disposition. Many of them are still showing in the Midwest and have been successful jumpers and sport horses. One in particular, Bonfire, can be seen with his owner competing at Rolex. Many others are competing still and I will work on a page for them as time allows. Below is his extended pedigree which shows the old classic blood that is being carried on in our breeding program.
